BAND OF CLIMBERS

UK'S TOUGHEST GROUP RIDES

SUPPORTED BY

FREE GROUP RIDES

Join Band of Climbers this summer for one of the toughest group rides you'll ever face. Why are they tough? Because each ride will pack in a minimum of 2200m of elevation (7,217ft) with some having over 3000m (10,000ft) of climbing, in a ride of around 100km (62 miles) There is no flat. There is a lot of steep.

These events are part of the Band of Climbers 'UK's Toughest Group Rides' tour of the UK. A series of free to enter group rides that will take us up and over the steepest, highest, and longest climbs in the UK. The rides are designed to test the legs to the limit, and showcase the very best UK cycling destinations.

THE LOCATIONS

NO DROP RIDES

All rides will be completed at a relaxed pace. These are not races, and we will regroup on the summits of the bigger climbs to keep the groups together, and ensure we all get around safely.

LIMITED NUMBERS

Each event will have a maximum of 50 riders. You will need to register in advance, as there will be no entry on the day. This is to ensure we keep the groups small and manageable on the day.

SELF SUPPORTED

As these are free group ride on open roads, there is very limited mechanical support on the course, and the route is not marked with signage. There will be several Band of Climbers ride leaders on course to make sure the group completes the ride, and we will send the STRAVA Routes 1 week before the ride to download onto your GPS computers.

You will need to bring your own mini-tools, tubes and any spares in the event of a mechanical issue. Due to the severity of the gradients on the climbs and descents, we strongly suggest ensuring your brake pads and chain are in a good condition. Your bike and legs will be tested to the limit on this ride.

These rides are completely free to enter, and by entering you understand that you are entering into a very challenging ride, on open roads. In order to take part you must:

  • Register in advance to take part (no entry on the day)
  • Wear a helmet
  • Bring a rear light (in case of mist/fog on the higher climbs or moors)
  • Bring your own tools/tubes/spares in order to repair any mechanicals
  • Sign a Covid declaration before the ride to confirm you have no Covid symptoms
  • Ride within your limits, safely, following the rules of the highway code at all times

MAXIMUM 60 PLACES AVAILABLE PER EVENT

REGISTRATION FOR EACH EVENT WILL OPEN 2 WEEKS BEFORE EACH RIDE
