COVID-19 UPDATES

COVID-19 BUSINESS AND SHIPPING UPDATES FROM BAND OF CLIMBERS

We will update this page regularly with any changes to our operations, shipping times internationally, or other factors which you, our customers need to be informed of.

January 7th 2021

DPD have today completely suspended their Road Services from the UK into Europe due to extra customs requirements following Brexit. We therefore have no choice but to remove the DPD Express Shipping option for our customers in many parts of Europe. Instead, we continue to offer standard tracked and untracked options, and a DHL Express option.

Orders for the UK and the rest of the world are not affected by this.

January 6th 2021

The UK is once again in a national lockdown, however we are working as usual, albeit with all social distancing measures in place.

Shipping Times across the world are still slower than usual due to the localised impact of Covid on postal services in each country. Unfortunately we have no control over these delays so please be be patient in allowing your order to arrive. Some countries have seen delays of up to 10 days above standard shipping times.

If your order is urgent, we strongly suggest upgrading to our DHL Express or DPD shipping options, which have been running as fast as usual throughout Christmas and the new year, with no reported delays.

January 4th 2021

DPD have begun shipping from the UK to Europe once again as of today. We have once again added DPD Express Shipping options for customers in many European Countries. Please note, Standard International shipping to Europe may still be delayed by 2-4 days due to Covid-19.

December 29th 2020

Orders to Europe using our standard shipping options have resumed, so all orders Europe will be processed and shipped as usual. However, please be aware that our shipping provider - Royal Mail are expecting 1-2 day delay in their own processing times.

Our Express Shipping providers, DPD, are still not accepting any European orders, so we are only offering standard shipping options at this time.

All UK and non European orders are shipping as usual, however we are seeing delays in worldwide shipping times due to extreme conditions due to Covid and Christmas demand combined.

DECEMBER 21st 2020

ORDERS TO EUROPE ARE ON HOLD DUE TO THE UK BORDER CLOSURE WITH FRANCE. NO CARRIERS ARE CURRENTLY ACCEPTING ANY FREIGHT TRAFFIC. WE ARE EXPECTING ORDERS TO EUROPE TO BEGIN SHIPPING AGAIN AROUND 4TH JANUARY. IF YOU ORDER BEFORE THEN, WE WILL HOLD YOUR ORDER HERE IN OUR WAREHOUSE, AND DESPATCH IT AS SOON AS OUR CARRIERS WILL ALLOW.

As of today, France has closed it's borders to all freight traffic due to the growing increase in Covid-19 cases in the UK. As a result, no parcels using a road service can leave the UK for 48 hours. This will have a direct impact on our shipping times unfortunately, and add a minimum of a 2 day delay to shipping times into Europe.

DPD Suspension. As of today, Monday 21st December, DPD have completely suspended their European Road shipping service from the UK. Band of Climbers use this service for many European countries. As a result, we have been forced to turn off this shipping option until DPD announce that they have lifted the suspension.

We apologise for the impact of this on your shipping times, but unfortunately these decisions are completely out of our control. We have updated our shipping options in the checkout as of 12pm Monday 21st December.

October 2020

UK : Due to increasing levels of COVID in the UK, some Royal Mail delivery offices are experience staff shortages and therefore delays in shipping times. In some locations, such as the North West, North East, and Notts, we are seeing delays of around 4-5 working days.

If your order is urgent, we suggest upgrading to DPD next working day, as that service is still running without delay.

September 2020

Australia : We are seeing extensive delays with Standard Shipping times to Australia. Our standard shipping option feeds into Australia Post for delivery. Australia Post have posted the following update on their services here. If your order is time critical, we strongly suggest choosing our DHL Express option in the checkout, which is a 2-3 day service.

Canada :  We are seeing some delays with Standard Shipping times to Canada. If your order is time critical, we strongly suggest choosing our DHL Express option in the checkout, which is a 2-3 day service.

May 2020

We are experiencing further delays to our standard shipping options. In Europe, some countries are seeing delays of 5-10 days. In The US, Australia and countries outside Europe, we are seeing delays of up to 10-15 days.

We apologise for any delays in receiving your orders, however these delays are unfortunately out of our control due to each country and postal service handling their own Covid-19 situation differently.

If you need your order quickly, we suggest using our Express shipping services which are still operating quickly and efficiently.

22nd April 2020

We continue to ship orders from our warehouse 3 days per week, while ensuring we do so safely, and in line with all UK Government Social Distancing measures.

Shipping Times

Due to COVID-19 we are seeing some delays to shipping times across the UK, and Internationally. These delays are unfortunately out of our control. Each country and locality is handling their own processes, so we do ask for some patience while orders take their time to reach you.

23rd March 2020

As of March 23rd the UK is effectively in lockdown. All non essential high street shops are closed, and strict restrictions are in place for leaving the home.

Band of Climbers continues to operate our warehouse, so online orders are still being shipped as normal across the UK and Globally.

We have not currently heard of any delays to shipping times to any countries.

BUSINESS OPERATING AS USUAL

We have taken every measure to allow us to do this safely, for the good of our small team, our families, and our customers. We're a team of 3. We're not a large business, we have no investors or banks to keep happy, so this means we're flexible and we can react quickly in these scenarios.

In times like this, we really appreciate the support of our customers. We know we have tough times ahead, like many, but we are stable and will continue to release our new product ranges over the coming months. Our priority is the health and wellbeing of our team, our families, friends and our customers.

We have taken steps to protect us all, such as home working, and alternating team members in the office and warehouse to reduce contact time, and reducing the number of days we ship orders. Usually, we ship orders every weekday. For now, we will ship orders 3 days per week, reducing our time in our warehouse to minimise social contact.

OPERATING SOLO

We will also operate our warehouse with 1 person, further reducing contact with others. Of course, we're also following all the health and safety guidelines with regard to social distancing and hygiene. We have also made a small change to the way we process orders on our website. This only affects our customers outside the UK.

You may see a slightly different checkout, payment and shipping option when you purchase. We have changed our international shipping carriers in order to best serve oversees customers during this time, and this change reflects that.

All non essential activities of our business have been put on hold, such as photoshoots, outdoor product testing, external meetings and supplier visits. Our warehouse continues to ship orders, staffed and managed by 1 person, in total isolation.

We will rotate our team to do this, with the others working from home. We will each cycle into our warehouse, giving us our daily dose of exercise too, and importantly, following all government guidelines and terms.

THANK YOU

A final thank you, for your ongoing support for our brand. All we have ever tried to do is inspire people to ride their bikes, climb hills and mountains, and whilst many of us cannot do that right now, we will still be here to provide all the inspiration you need for when this is all over.
